The cross-Canada road trip is a rite of passage for Canadians and is well represented in this unabashed love note to our country. Never has it been filmed so grandly, nor brought so beautifully into a story of inspiration. One Week tells the story of Ben Tyler (Vancouver native Joshua Jackson, Dawson’s Creek, Fringe), a man in his mid-twenties, who has been diagnosed with a virulent form of cancer. Though it is imperative that he begins treatment immediately, Ben impulsively heads west on a suddenly purchased vintage motorcycle. What starts off as an ill-defined attempt at escape soon morphs into a cross-country odyssey from Toronto to Tofino, British Columbia.
